Isla Mujeres is a small island 15 minutes by ferry off Cancun and is easy-going Mexico.

Only 7 miles long it has beautiful white sand beaches on the lee side of the island. Walk the beach early in the morning or late in the afternoon and watch the fishermen set their nets.
Better yet go to the nearby restaurants and enjoy the freshest fish you can eat. The nearby central plaza and market are interwoven around many shops offering wares from t-shirts to ornate handmade crafts.
Days can be spent lazing on the beach or the island can be explored.
